What started as a father's support for his son during his tours overseas and the gratitude he felt upon his safe return home has blossomed into a charitable initiative to provide educational assistance to family members of Marines.

New England Warrior was originally formed in 2006 by former Marine Dwight Nelson. He organized the non-profit, charitable organization to support his son, Ssgt. Matthew Nelson, a member of the Marine Scout/Sniper Platoon from the 1st Battalion 25th Marine Regiment that served in Iraq during 2006, by raising money to purchase much needed comfort items for the troops overseas.

After 1/25 returned from Iraq, New England Warrior refocused its efforts and entered into a partnering agreement to support The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF). Today, the charitable organization is supporting MCSF mission of "Honoring Marines in Educating their Children" by selling Cathy Rankin Armed Forces Wall Calendars and through its newest initiative, titled Operation Patriot Warrior. The organization also raises funds to place wreaths on the headstones of fallen Veterans in Holbrook, MA through its Annual Headstone Motorcycle Run supporting "Wreaths Across America."
